New Job, New Beginning...

I think I need to blog more often. Its refreshing to be able to write down what you feel, how  you feel at any given moment. Lots of updates with me. The biggest one being that I quit my old jobs and found a new job working at Oglethorpe University. This is the place I have always wanted to work and for it to finally happen has really been a blessing. My first day was yesterday (Aug 13) and so it consisted of training and meeting the staff. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming. I feel like I belong to a team already.At my previous job I didnt feel that way. A lot of t imes I felt underappreciated and underpaid (well with one supervisor) and ultimately I just wasn't happy. I was always in a bad mood because I always had a report to write up which really sucked because it literally cut into all my free time and even when I went on vacation I still had to drag all my files and laptop with me. Anyways my new job is much better. Sitting in traffic isnt the greatest but its what I have to do and thats ok. I think I just accpeted the fact that 85 South will always be jammed with traffic. I just listen to my CD's and try my best to enjoy the ride.

Other updates include. Chris took me to Panama City a few weekends ago as a little romantic getaway. We had a blast and wish we could have chilled on the beach longer. We just went for a weekend.

We (well Chris) got a puppy on July 1st (while I was in Orlando visiting family). It's a pitbull but he is the cutest thing. His name is Kobe and he's probably 10-12 weeks old now and he is growing like a weed! At first I had issues with having him in the house but we keep him in a crate when we are not home and that works very well with potty training. We dont let him have free rein of the house and so that cuts down on accidents. Mind you we still have Fatty (the cat from VA Beach) and he is very affectionate and loveable but can be sooooo annoying in the morning when he meows consistently for an hour wanting food. *shakes head*

Going to a Braves game tonight. Braves vs the Giants. That means Im going to haul butt home after work (I get off at 5:30 and the game is at 7:35pm) Run home, change and then grab food on the way to the stadium. I havent been to a baseball game all summer so it should be fun. Hopefully the heat factor will have decreased a bit by then too. Its toooooooooooooooooooo hot here!!

Chris and I went to the Justin Timberlake concert last Tuesday (Aug 7) at the Gwinnett Center. Had a blast! Justin sang like every song he created *lol* He sang all the ones off his new CD (except for Pose). And then all the singles off Justified. He danced, made us laugh and made the ladies crazy with his hottness . Good Charlotte opened up for him - hadnt seen them in years! Almost didnt recognize Benji with the bright bleached hair.

Whoah its been a year!

WOW. I didn't even realize how long it's been since I have posted a blog on here! Im surprised its still here *lol*. So much has happened since my last blog. I got married May 31, 2006 (well had the Nikkah ceremony) on that day, then had the wedding reception July 9, 2006. Took a much deserved beautiful, relaxing honeymoon trip to Cabo san Lucas (I highly recommend everyone go there at least once in their life). Then I moved to VA beach for about 9 months. Relocated back to ATL at the end of Jan 2007. Moved into a new place the first week of May and am living life with my hubby. I can't believe our one year wedding anniversary is this thursday! How insane!! I rem last time this year I was planning a wedding and now I've already been married for a year!

Chris and I really have had our tough stuggles to be together and its good to have that hope that love conquers all! Now we are both busy working away, saving money for a house and for another Cabo-type vacation. Maybe a second honeymoon??

Hey Everyone!

Life has just been a little whirlwind these past few weeks! So time for a quick update. Last weekend my very best friend Jacie flew up from Florida. To my surprise when I went to go pick her up from the airport it turned out that two of our other Chicago friends (Jamie and Paige) had a layover in ATL, so we got to visit with them for a little while at Hartsfield. Which was nice..I love my chicago friends! *hugs* Anyways I had a good time last weekend because my sister and Jacie planned a bridal shower for me. Aren't they sweet? I hadn't really ever been to a bridal shower so I really didn't know what to expect. Good times indeed and I got a bunch of really cute gifts too!

My last day of work was last Monday. Im going to miss working there but I had no choice since I'm moving. Can't exactly commute to Decatur from VA Beach lol. My supervisor and co-workers were kind enough to throw me a little going away party, which I thought was very sweet. I will still be in and out of the office next week to drop off reports and files and things. Aww so many changes lay ahead.

Chris will be home soon too. He's coming down to ATL soon and we're going to have the Nikkah ceremony so we'll officially be married. YAY!!!!! I have been packing up some of my stuff to move to Virginia Beach and what not. I'll most likely be making trips back and forth between now and the time of the wedding reception in July.

Let's see, work has been slow so I've been using the downtime to tie up loose ends with the wedding reception. Finally got a photographer, thanks to Richard *claps* Just gotta think about a cake now and add more songs to my playlist, etc. Oh and I'll be sending out invitations soon. yay! Im excited. My bestest girls Jacie & Shabs are planning a little bridal shower for me next month, so I'm excited. All I know is when the shower is, I have no idea what all they have planned so I'm looking forward to being surprised. And I can't wait for all my girlie friends to come over and celebrate with me. Good times!

So I was cleaning my room this weekend and I realized I have wayyy too many shoes. Chris said that unfortunately I will have to leave a few pairs behind when I move. ::sniffle:: it's ok because then he can just buy me new ones

Braves have started playing again so I plan on going to a game sometime in the near future and I still want to go to the new GA Aquarium too.

So apparently I found out Im allergic to sunblock...yeah I put some on my arms last week since it was so damn hot outside and I had a bad allergic reaction. Thank goodness I only put it on my arms! Both arms flared up and were bright ass red by the end of the day and were itching and burning. I wanted to cut my left arm off it hurt so bad. However, I survived with the help of a lot of aloe vera, cortizon cream, and Benedryl. Have no fear, Shine is back to her normal self. *phewph*

Wow it's been a minute since Ive updated! Then again my life has been so busy that I barely have time to shower and eat! Let's see so much has happened to me already this year. It's been good far. Just mostly wedding planning stuff. I am very grateful that my friend Richard has been helping me with some of the planning. I have most of the things I need for the reception taken care of. I still need to look into getting a cake, a photographer and figure out what to do for music. So we're doing good there. Still need to mail out invitations and finish up my wedding gift registry. Finalize apartment paperwork. Aww and of course I miss my Christopher dearly. Did I mention Im head over heels in love with the boy?  He's my baby!

Alrighty so moving on to other fun things. I recently took a trip to Chicago and visited all my old Chi-town friends. My friend Jacie flew up from Florida too so we all got to eat, shop and be merry for a few days. Aww being in Chicago brought back a lot of good memories. I really missed the city and of course my friends! My Chi-town friends hadn't seen my engagement ring yet and so they immediately swarmed me when they saw me and "ooo and ahhh-ed" over my ring and showed me a lot of love. My friend Paige let me crash at her place for a few days and I was very appreciate! Thanks Paige! Here are a few photo's from my trip....

Anyways so that was March. Work has been super crazy these past 2 weeks too. So many patients coming in for testing and so many reports to write! I've been learning new stuff too, how to test "different" kinds of patients. And of course it keeps me busy pretty much most evenings and weekends. I've become quite the homebody. I guess I have all this other stuff to do and so I have shifted focus from other parts of my life to getting done what needs to be done. Oh yeah our honeymoon is booked! Me & Chris are both really excited! YAY!!! It'll be sooooo good to just RELAX and soak up the sun and the beach. Haha and of course I've been doing some shopping too. Chris just shakes his head whenever I tell him Im going shopping but he's such a sweetheart he's like "just buy whatever you want baby."

Ok this is random but One Tree Hill is the best show ever! I always get so wrapped up whenever I watch it. If you watch the show then you'll understand these next few sentences. I absolutely love "Nathan" and "Hailey's" relationship. They are such a sweet couple and Nathan does SO much for Hailey! Kinda reminds me of Chris. He's always going out of his way to make me happy and he does a pretty good job too. I've never been more happier in my life. He is such a blessing. Ok ok, I'll stop gushing about my sweetie.

Time to watch some tv and then sleeptime! Night everyone!!
